It's not official, but Automotive News
reports that the new Dodge Barracuda will be built on the same architecture as the Alfa Romeo Giulia.
The Giulia's architecture is described as an adaptable rear-drive platform.
It will likely be stretched for the Barracuda.
What does this information tell us about the Barracuda?
The Alfa Romeo Giulia weighs 3,325 pounds
. Components will have a affect the weight of the Barracuda, but this is at least a starting point to figure out where the Barracuda's mass might come in.
The Giulia also has a 50/50 weight distribution.
The engine, along with many other things, will affect weight distribution, but a perfectly balanced Barracuda is a possibility.
We also know the dimensions of the Giulia which can give us a ballpark for the Barrcuda, but keep in mind the Barracuda will be stretched, so longer than the Giulia.
Wheelbase: 2,820 mm (111.0 in)
Length: 4,639 mm (182.6 in)
Width: 1,873 mm (73.7 in) (without mirrors)
Height: 1,426 mm (56.1 in)
The Barracuda is due out in the next two years, though some articles have cited 2019 as a launch date as well.
